Depth: In Which You Are a Shark

If you’re looking to make huge profits in the games industry, you don’t need to look much further than the FPS niche. Shooters have quickly become the most successful and popular games in the mainstream marketplace, with huge fan followings and robust online communities. However, it’s hard to overlook that most FPS games are just variations on the same theme: Point your gun at something and shoot it.

Depth, a new indie game that’s currently under development, works to shake up this simple formula. Instead of playing as generic soldiers or atomic supermen, you’ll take the role of divers looking for sunken treasure. Oh, and the enemy team plays as sharks.

The goal of the diving team is to retrieve treasure and avoid being eaten, while the goal of the shark team is, obviously, to eat the diving team. Check it out:

There’s no word on when we can expect a full release for Depth, but the game certainly looks interesting.

Would you play a FPS game that puts you in the role of swimming death machine?

Interesting but needs better graphics and there's no need to be first person for the divers as they are not the player.

Can't the player both a shark and a diver?

Kind of like how in Left4Dead 2 the player can be an infected or human.

I could see this doing well, at say, $20 max. I would definately play. Looks like you can play as either shark or diver and they put other things in there for the sharks to go after. Definately a nice break from the norm of FPS.

I could swear this was done in a ps1 game. Albeit not multiplayer based. They're too similar though
