Thinking of picking up Far Cry 3 for the PC when it releases next week?  If so, you better download a critical patch if you want to get the most out of it.

Patch 1.01 for Ubisoft’s upcoming release of Far Cry 3 will fix several problems that have been spotted in both the single player and multiplayer modes of the game’s PC version.  Here’s a mini breakdown of the fixes:

Single Player

• fixes flickering on certain water textures
• improves performance and stability

Cooperative Mode

• addresses graphical issues with loading screen hints
• fixes issues that prevent maps from appearing when a player enters Public co-op for the first time
• prevents flare gun kills from being considered assist kills

Multiplayer Mode

• improves performance and stability
• fixes default muting of players in voice chat

There’s no word if a similar patch will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, which also become available in North America and Europe on December 4^th.  You can see a list of all the fixes from Patch 1.01 for the PC here.
