Crytek addresses Crysis multiplayer beta questions |
Ó
The development team of Crysis has come out with a few details regarding their game's multiplayer beta. The message, addressed to the entire community, discussed various topics including the lack of a public announcement and leaked information.A public announcement didn't come out regarding the beta because the first batch of testers was intended to be an internal test. This means friends and family only, for now. Don't feel bad though since the developers have let slip that the official public Beta is almost ready.
Regarding leaked information, both Crytek and Electronic Arts (EA) want to stress that the beta is a closed event and any posted screenshots, videos, or information from the test is a violation of the NDA that was accepted during the sign-up process. Those caught violating this will be placed on "an immediate and permanent ban from the Beta program."
Finally, players will not have to pay to join the Beta. The only thing necessary to join is an active subscriber account. Apparently, some players have been under the impression that payment will be necessary to take part in the event. The payment that was being discussed in the forums referred to becoming a member of the Founder's Club of Fileplanet which was necessary if a gamer wants to be among the few who actually were allowed into the first batch of Beta players.
It's nice that the developers took some time to answer some of the question that have been floating around the forums. Gamers should now have a clearer picture of what's happening regarding the game and the beta test. If you're not planning on joining the beta and just want to jump straight into the game, Crysis is slated to be out by this November 16.
