Skyrim already has a ton of mods, thanks to a passionate modding community. However, Bethesda is a company known for embracing modders, and they’re not content to leave modding to the experts. The Skyrim Creation Kit is a single-purpose software designed to assist modders in developing new mods for the game, and to help new modders get into the swing of things.

Bethesda dropped a trailer detailing some of the Creation Kit’s features, as well as how the Kit operates when linked to Steam Workshop. Check it out:

The new Creation Kit has a cool new features, including the full set of tools used by Skyrim’s developers and an in-depth wiki written by Bethesda staff. You’ll also find a scene editor, which allows you to create interactions between NPCs, and editable dialogue trees for conversations. You’ll be able to upload all of your mods to the Steam Workshop, where other users can download and rate them. Pretty cool!

The Skyrim Creation Kit doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but it will be available within the next few weeks. Bethesda has it pegged at “soon.”
