Back in April 2008, released the "Variety Map Pack" for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PlayStation 3, Windows, Xbox 360) to Xbox LIVE Marketplace, which was quickly succeeded by a PlayStation Network offering - both at US$ 10 per download. On June 5, however, PC gamers will get the same additional content at no additional cost.
We're told by Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling that graphics chip manufacturer NVIDIA is sponsoring the content, and that they're not done with their PC gaming promotions just yet. Bowling also said:
In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available.
Along with the maps Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek, Infinity Ward also plans to serve a corresponding patch for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to support the new maps, fix server exploits, and some more improvements. Patch version 1.6 - watch for it next week. More updates as we get them.
Buy: [ Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PlayStation 3), (Windows), (Xbox 360) ]
