Brink devs want to revolutionize multiplayer gaming

Brink developers have a very lofty goal set up, and that is to revolutionize multiplayer in gaming as we know it. Can they pull it off?

Splash Damage, via lead writer Ed Stern, took the time out to explain how they intend to execute this plan.

"We've all had the experience of playing the single-player of something and saying, 'This is great, this is really good, I've beaten the game', and then yougo online and it's just murder."

"So what we've set out to do with Brink is we've basically made a big list of all things that are problematic in online shooter play, tried to fix them, to take all the things that are cool and make them easier to get into."

Teamwork's always a good thing for multiplayer, isn't it? Now the only thing left is for us is to see if they're actually able to deliver. Brink is set to release on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 10th for the US and May 13th worldwide.

I dont know if they will revolutionize multiplayer, but I think they can push it in the right direction for future companies. It is hard to believe that one company will take a giant leap, but taking a few more steps can be just as crucial. Most companies like the step they are on and have no desire to take a step at all *cough* Activision *cough*
