Bioware creates jobs and sticks to their guns |

Definitely ready for the release of Old Republic with creating 200 new jobs at Galway in Ireland by setting up a whole set of people to help with their upcoming MMO. Ray Muzyka, co-founder of Bioware, said about the new jobs, that "MMO launches are complex, and we are determined to set a new standard for a high quality, stable, smooth launch for our fans. Our new Bioware facility and team...is critical to eensuring we deliver on that goal".
The compan is recruiting right now before the December 20-22 release date. It's been a big year for Bioware with Dragon Age and Mass Effect making some big strides with both critics and fans. Whilst I personally have only had a taste of each, I've heard amazing things about both series and their adaptation to the Facebook crowd. An interview from Tuesday with Bioware helped give an insight to the gaming industry's ever changing stance.
"If we weren't adaptable, we'd be dead. Like right now you will die if you're not adaptable...Opportunities are greater than ever. Even when there's flux, that's when opportunity occurs, and if you're one of those people that grab that opportunity then that's a great place to be", the truth about the situation is that the gaming world and the internet world keep crossing over more and more. Like other mediums (See: Television) and the proper way to deal with things is having a Modernist perspective and embrace the new whilst maybe not clinging so much with the old.
The most recent adaptation has been Bioware's move from Canada's lovely cold Montreal to Ireland but Greg Zeschuk insists that the size doesn't matter when it comes to changing trends and business models. "Agility is a state of mind, it doesn't matter how big you are, you have to have the philosophy for it...[it's] all the different business models on new platform is they're not a threat if you approach them in terms of a unified experience for consumers. We look at as an IP universe", Muzyka was apart of Wrath of Heroes and spin-offs like Dragon Age: Legends which appears on Facebook and boasts a good number of players.
I do hope Bioware have a proper release for The Old Republic and I hope other developers can learn from them. "Luckily Bioware and EA are changing really rapidly to accommodate the new industry. I mean, look at The Sims Social, on track to be the number one social game. Who would've that a few years ago, that EA, a traditional publisher, would do that?".
