Beneath the fog of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl screens

STALKER: SoC

When I heard about this game, I was like, "What? As in the Chernobyl? In Kiev?" The nuclear power plant explosion may have happened back in 1986, but it's still recorded as the worst accident in nuclear power history. For someone to base a game on it... genius?

Well, to be accurate about it, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't concern the explosion itself, but more of like a post-apocalypse scenario in Chernobyl. GSC Game World's upcoming title is set after the explosion, and you'd have just 60 hours to complete your mission of solving the mystery fogging up the Zone.

From freaky industrial areas to gloomy carnivals, the whole place reminds me of Silent Hill. Well, Chernobyl really is a ghost town now. The bad thing is, in this game, it's populated. Y'know what that means. Expect some weird evolutionary mutations here... Want a glimpse? Here's some screens!

I've been following this for something like 4-5 years - it has taken the longest time, I think because the development team are from the Ukraine (I think, or that area of the world at least) the development costs have been fairly low and the publishers have not given them a release date to put pressure on them, but rather they have just given them free reign to put everythin they want into the game. I hope the long development time shows in the final product, if it does then this game is going to be so detail and full of innovative stuff it could well be quite a landmark game.
