Battlefield 3-Origin tie-up = one soldier per account?

There's more reason to resent EA DICE for requiring Origin in order to play Battlefield 3 on PC.

Reports have it that there is a possibility that players will be limited to one soldier per account. Now that doesn't bode too well considering that the franchise has always been known to accommodate players with multiple soldiers or profiles.

Now that the Origin is a pre-requisite, this ties up the profile you have in the game to the one account you have in Origin. As DICE's Daniel Matros, "your name is linked to your Origin persona". So yeah, that basically means there won't be any name-changing for your soldier in the game, unless you change your username on Origin itself.

EA DICE has been courting a lot of controversy as of late, particularly with the obvious competitive stand they have with Steam, despite their vehement denials, and of course, their announcement that the much-awaited Battlefield 3 will have to be tied up to EA Origin.
