Battlefield 3 beta rattled with accounts ban threats |
Listed in: News Tags: battlefield 3, ea dice
Just last week, the Battlefield 3 beta seemed like one big party. As the weekend went on, however, it suddenly posed a problem more than enjoyment -- at least for EA DICE.
The developers have posted up on their official blog a warning: if you join in on "any unofficial/ hacked servers", your account will be banned. Now, just to give you a bit of a backstory on this situation.

As reports would have it, claims of a hackery inside the beta allows alternative game modes, which opens up the game to as much as 128 players in one game. Thing is, Battlefield 3 officially supports only up to 32 players in Rush mode under the Operation Metro map.
So, that's the backstory. With these claims of hackery, EA DICE of course is not afraid to mete out punishment to rule breakers. Said DICE, they have already "tested out Operation Metro on conquest with 64 and 128 players, and can confirm their existence, albeit, the 128 player server lagged considerably." If your account is found to be involved in these illegitimate servers, then it can most definitely "compromise your EA account and have it banned by EA."
Before you go all cocky thinking that the ban will only be for the beta anyway, do know that any other EA games you might want to play will be inaccessible, obviously, considering that the EA accounts ban will be a universal one.
Just stick by the rules, guys. There's a reason why they're there in the first place. Don't go pissing off EA with this.

Is that why with every single release of a Call of Duty game it breaks the sales of the predecessor by a couple hundred thousand copies?
Just because people aren't playing the same games as 20 years ago, I.E. Mario, Sonic, it doesn't mean gaming is dying. Gaming is ADVANCING.

That's not fair. Why should I get banned for not knowing they where hacked servers, yet other people who made dummy accounts to deliberately play these hacked servers don't risk getting banned.

geez, take a hint retards. Valve knew this back in HL1 when they let people mod the hl engine and make their own mods.
