Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is going so modern that even the updates of its assets are going to be automatically made.

This was confirmed by Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward, saying "So now we're advancing content and releasing new maps on multiplayer, we can also further tweak them to also be playale in Spec Ops, and then looka thow we can update the game further in other ways like new modes, weapons - whatever we wanna do."

He furthered, "So we've done a lot of work on the back end that allows us to update more easily and quickly, and that's helpful for DLC but it's also helpful for post-launch support: listening to feedback. Maybe there's stuff we want to rebalance. Maybe there's stuff we wanna patch. We have a lot more control in tweaking the game now, outside of a patch, than we ever did before.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is in tight competition with EA DICE's Battlefield 3, and is set to come out on November 8th of this year. The Hardened Edition is also up now for pre-order, so you might want to check that out too. Whatever you decide to get, though, the devs are promising to provide "intense moments" and the "deepest experience" with Modern Warfare 3.

Didn't they say in MW2 that they couldn't add new weapons?
MW3 is still using the same engine as far as I can tell.
:sigh:

I'm pretty sure this is just a response to the balancing DICE is doing from aplha>beta>ship

Instead of changing everything like black ops they should of just done a closed beta of some 500-1000 players, 15 weeks would solve 75% of bugs/glitches and unblanced objectives.

All i see coming from this automatic updates and balance changing is a lot of anger in the forums. Nerf guns/unnerf/renerf/remove all together/replace with something worse.

If i could change one thing in COD it would have to be the shotgun. All i gotta say is when you shoot a duck with a bird shot, the shot doesnt travel 5 feet and disappear you can actually hit a bird about 30m away sometimes further.

And one other thing they dont use JUST f***ing bird shots. If you breach a door with a birdshot, it'll bounce into your face and you'll be bloody and blind or dead. They use slugs and 00 to breach and to put someone down with one shot.

Personally i want something 99% accurate not something thats strictly for balance on a tiny map. MW3 will be addictive but BF3 is the sport.
