Being an Australian and a gamer, I've been following this story incredibly close and to finally have a closure is a sweet relief and a win for gamers all over my fairly bronzed country.
Whilst it will not be in the country till either the end of this year or the beginning of next, we finally join the United States and a several European countries with having an adults only rating system. After last year's Left 4 Dead 2 fiasco, the last straw broke the camel's back with gamers in Australian incredibly disappointed with the OFLC, the Australian classification board for all media that enters our country.
Whilst America has the ESRB and the shadowy MPAA, Australia does finally have some good news for adult games such as MortalKombat, Dead Island and the upcoming Saints Row to be declassified so people who are just over the age of 18 can enjoy in their gory, fun goodness.
Also down the wire, Bioware let slip that whilst there will not be an official release for Australian gamers, they will not IP block or region block any gamers who wish to play the game from here. Kotaku suggested that Bioware maybe setting up some Oceania servers some time in the future, but it is currently uncertain and merely a Jedi's pipe dream...right next to the prequels being erased from history.
How many of QJ.net's users are Australian or have experienced gaming censorship in their country?
