The folks over at Mojang have dropped a pretty big bomb on the Minecraft community: You can now, theoretically, animate the textures on any in-game Minecraft block. There are some obvious uses for this new tech - animating Redstone circuits, for instance – but why focus on that stuff when you can make all of Minecraft look like an LSD-induced meltdown?

As with any feature that relies on the creativity of the community, this new addition to Minecraft will certainly be something to watch. Knowing these folks, it’s only a matter of time before someone animates an entire Pixar movie in Minecraft blocks or does some other insane thing that is two parts impressive and one part depressing.
