Alan Wake Coming to PC in 2012 |
Listed in: News Tags: alan wake, remedy, the signal, the writer
Earlier this week, the internet exploded with speculation regarding an Alan Wake PC port, thanks largely to a few savvy gamers turning up evidence of the game in Steam’s registry files. I’m not sure who these people are or how they think to do things like this, but I’m glad they exists. Anyway, now that the files are out in the open, Remedy has gone ahead and confirmed that Alan Wake will indeed see a PC release in 2012.

As Alan Wake rolled closer to its original, Xbox-only release date, the game’s developers explained that they had considered a PC version of the game, but scrapped it. They did, however, mention that they’d like to get one done eventually, and as of today, it looks like they’re officially on the job.
This is a curious development when you consider Microsoft basically stomped on similar rumors, stating that the Xbox 360 gave Alan Wake the most “compelling” experience possible. What we do know, so far, is that the PC version of Alan Wake will include both The Signal and The Writer DLC expansions and will probably be released through Steam.
Stay tuned for more information. Remedy has given only the loose release window of “early 2012.”
Are you excited for Alan Wake on PC, or is it too little, too late?
