Introducing: Orion's DUSK-12 |
Ó
There's a new game coming to PC land, and we've got the scoop on it, just for you. Orion Games is busy developing their upcoming FPS game, Dusk-12. What's it about? Oh, nothing really. Just the usual soldier leading a squad. Actually, this ain't really anything ordinary, at least as far as his strengths are concerned. After all, he's got superhuman mutant strength. "Speed and fortitude beyond human limits" as they so described it.
Talking to GGMania, PR manager Aliona Vasnetsova divulges details about the project. According to her, the game is set in the isolated city of the 80s of the last century. There was a virus that spread which infected the whole city, thus forcing the authorities to put a special wall around it so as to prevent further infection.
Then the game fast forwards to 2025. A group of Special Forces was brought in to the city, with the mission of getting into the secret lab where the virus was born through the experiments. However, their ultimate mission will only be revealed once they get into the laboratory. But it's not as if they'll have an easy way into it. There will be dangers to face, and trust issues to confront.
The weapons collection provide a vast variety of sorts, from the simple knife to the heavy large-caliber machine gun. Interestingly enough, players will get to use all present-day Russian firearms. ALL. Included in this Russian stash are the shotgun Saiga, the flame thrower Shmel, and of course, the Kalashnikov.
With this amount of weapons, they of course added in a healthy bunch of mutants for you to use on, so as to not waste away them ammos. Vagrants, robbers, infected people (yes, they are considered as enemies), and mutants abound the city to make your quest just a tad more difficult.
Featuring the Innovative physic system, "the environment will be almost fully interactive and destructible." We're also looking out for the water and textile effects that are said to be brought to life by the PhsyX technology.
The plan is to release the game by the end of 2007. Currently, it is in its pre-alpha stage of development. So, have we piqued your interest enough yet on Dusk-12? Keep it posted here for more then.
