Ryan LennoxInfernal is a dark third person shooter based on the never ending battle of good and evil. Firing Squad had a chance to interview Metropolis Software's PR representative Pawel Miechowski and lead artist Przemyslaw Marszal.

Storyline centers on a very common premise - good versus evil, but with a modern spin. There are two intelligence agencies that fight over souls. EtherLight is Heaven's agency while Hell has Abyss. Enter Ryan Lennox, EtherLight agent. The twist - he gets fired due to his violent tendencies and his former agency now regards him as a threat. EtherLight then goes on an all out campaign, wiping out all the competitor's agents. Abyss asks Lennox to work for them as a freelance agent. And he agrees.

The environments are varied from the frigid Alps to a grimy industrial refinery. There are also a number of weapons to choose from, plus there are two ways to use them. First is the normal way where all one needs to do is squeeze the trigger. The second way, or the devilish way, involves the use of mana which gives the guns an extra wallop and a number of possibilities. Bad guys, er- enemies, would basically be human but as the game progresses, players will battle boss monsters and such.

One interesting gameplay bit is teleportation. It would be something to watch out for, players might be treated to taking down enemies like Nightcrawler. The game uses the PhysX">AGEIA PhysX chip and engine so things like cloth dynamics and explosions would be realistic in looks and behavior.

Infernal is set for release at the end of Q1 this year. The official release date is yet to be announced but we'll keep you posted.
