Diablo 3 - Image 1

Newly transferred Diablo fansite Diii.net managed to get their claws on the developers who brought the gaming world Diablo II and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and unearthed their mixed feelings of the announcement of Diablo III.

One of them was former senior artist Ben Boos, who worked on the early stages of Diablo 3 during his final days at Blizzard North, and he had praises in store for Activision-Blizzard's newly announced action RPG.

"I'll be honest: What really made me sit up and pay attention to the announcement was to see how beautiful D3 had become!" Boos told Diii.net. Boos was known to have put out art for D2 and LOD, which includes everything from items to equipment and the wilderness areas of Diablo 2's Act 1, 2, 3, and 5.

He also was responsible for the artwork plastered on the game box of the Diablo Battle Chest set.

"There are tons of strong emotions all wrapped into this franchise since the Diablo games were more than a mere hobby; they were my life for nearly 8 years. ... What a rush of memories!" he exclaimed.

He further expressed how impressed he was with Blizzard's direction with Diablo 3, and the resulting excitement spurred him to open up old communication channels to several other former Blizzard North team members.

While he may not be disappointed to not be a part of the team developing Diablo 3, he does wish that a lot of his old friends back at Blizzard North were still behind the development process. "I still have good friends who are working on it," he added.

On that note, Boos is excited to enjoy Diablo 3 as a fan, and concluded with the words, "See you all in New Tristam!" We will, Boos. You can bet we will. More updates as we get them.
