Trade in Battlefield 3, Get Modern Warfare 3 for $1

Gamestop UK will allow you to buy Call of Duty: MW3 from them for £0.99, around $1.35USD, all you have to do is trade in your copy of Battlefield 3.

This is a pretty good deal if you are a CoD fan.

Simply purchase Battlefield 3 before midnight on October 27th and then purchase Modern Warfare 3 before midnight on November 7th. Gamestop will refund you for your purchase of Battlefield 3 except for the £0.99/$1.35.

You will need to send Battlefield 3 back to Gamestop before the 18th of November to be eligible.

That works out to be three weeks playtime before sending it back for CoD:MW3.

Modern Warfare 3 will cost £41.97 at GameStop while Battlefield 3 costs £36.97.

Activision obviously has this accounted for in their marketing plans and the slightly higher price point.

If you are unsure of which of the latest multi-player shooters you intend to get, well, this could be a great way to try them both.

This is a new step in the war for players, a fairly dirty one too. Sure, this deal has Gamestops name attached to it, not Activisions, but you would expect they are involved.

We can't really name any other titles that have flat out offered you a trade in on a competitors game, that just came out!

Personally, the constant versions of CoD and Battlefield that are released every 6 months are starting to get a little bit old. Certainly won't be buying Call of Duty 4 for PC, Xbox or PS. The map packs for Call of Duty are really uninteresting too.

Now if they offered me a trade in for Leisure Suit Larry 1-7 (the originals), I'd be there in a second.

Not a fan of this type of marketing myself, it feels very like big business not actually looking to help the gaming industry out.

Yeah lets all buy the same washed up garbage thats been re-used more then old bath water. More gay ass perks more crap ass gameplay and perfectly straight firing bullets over miles and miles. yeah like a 9mm can hit a uav or a raffica can just shoot perfectly straight... how about i go down the list of every mistake CoD has done since MW1 both Treyarch and IW both...

MW1- bullets go through...EVERYTHING. Tanks for example... Ohh just because you have deep penetrations means a 9mm pistol can shoot through a tank... Oh wait but the dreaded trashcan can stop a bullet...

WaW- shit gameplay, cloudy brown over look...

MW2-ahem...bullet penetration through the mountain on estate... shit level design. Every level almost perfectly straight so noob tubes can fly down and hit. Oh and the uslessness of perks with cold blooded on. A harrier just buzzing wouldnt shoot at nothing just create noise right?

Black ops- FLAK JACKET... Hardcore mode=more damage means explosions should do more damage.. flak jacket ok... it takes 4 noob tubes and 1 grenade. more rockets then any one person can carry unless its a direct hit. but if it was direct then whats the point of EXPLOSION?... shall I go on?

CoD3... hop off the motorcycle on the side of a map go through only thing that can touch you is an airstrike...

CoD2-trench guns and mp44 two cheapest guns in game history...

And that beta was an august coding so BETA means BETA!! Before Early Testing Aware!...

Perfect example.. saints row 1... that "demo" was in fact a beta. The demo you can go through the demo area and find an Ak47. or go through the level itself...

If i need to go on why Battlefield is going to be better then Modern GayFair 3 I will...

Seriously, you can point out the FLAWS of the series all you want, but the truth is everything has its flaws. What you have to do is put those flaws into context and weigh up how they affect your enjoyment of the game. Anything less than that is you being a fucking peasant.

You know its true and admit it. Thats why they are selling this IW is DONE! Activision will sail them down a river. This is ALL HYPE. you know what they had at E3? A little video. The Beta we all played was the same they used at E3 and they had 4 months to work on it. Its done man. MW has lost.

i have to agree with most of what u wrote there, except for COD3, i liked that game, sure there was a few bugs, but there isnt a game thats completely perfect.

black ops i used to like before i played the battlefield 3 beta and even that messed up bug fest was still more enjoyable to play, with actual half decent bullet physics. played black ops tonight with some friends and i realised how truly bad the gameplay really is

Unfinished map or not, BF3 is 1000x more intense than CoD has been in the last 10 years.

Demo's do not all ways represent the finished product, remember to read the fine print! Most demo's these days state that they do not necessarily represent the finished product, so yes some demos are taken from in house beta's late in development.

BF3 is a downgrade from BFBC2 imo, just like every CoD past 5 has been.

I don't know how MW3's gameplay will be, but I know BF3's is garbage compared to most I've played even reaching the level of garbage that MW2 was.

Glitches everywhere, downgraded destruction, same carppy aiming, only weapon worth using being a pistol...

but lets see.. Frostbite 1 has destruction 2.0. Means you can destroy walls and topple smaller leveled building and it can handle a fairly high tessellation count. Frostbite 2 can handle skyscrapers falling it can now even have LARGER maps and even handle jets flying at realistic speed. Also the best graphical engine out there next to... what no one seems to know yet is the Unreal engine 4 which is gonna be used in next gen. Saw the movie Avatar? both engines can produce game graphics of that quality. CoD is gonna suck on so many levels. Once you realize the maps are linear and you can shoot through things that would NEVER EVER be shot through if you had 1 million 9mm bullets and realize its the same crappy textures. THEN all you people will realize what I am saying. So anyone who thinks that I am wrong fine.. Look up the specs.. IW engine is just a modified iD tech engine which was used in quake... Yet the bullet physics allow people who cannot shoot a real gun the ability to shoot...

OH and I forgot to add one more thing above...

QUICK SCOPING! in MW2 gayest invention in shooting games ever... So pick up a real game and buy BF3 not MW3. Or pay the extra each month for the hardened edition and enjoy your Madden 07 again.. I mean Modern gayfair 3. All the same thing. same wrapped up garbage.

Knife any door in BFBC2, it falls down; grenade a door in BF3, oh...it's not made to go down :/
Nearly everything in BFBC2 was able to be blown up, even the objectives!!

2.Graphics > Gameplay, if the gameplay's carp, graphics don't redeem it.

3. CoD is terrible past CoD:5,
MW2 and BO are just money machines.
Their gameplay literally breaks after the first update so you'll buy the next!

Yep, CoD and BF. I'll stick with Skyrim, a REAL game, not just a spawn-camping-unbalanced-my-score-is-better-than-your-score game.

Sad part is, all those flaws being true, battlefield has even more flaws and less inspired game play. I would list battlefields flaws but qj only gives you 2500 characters per post.

Shouldn't it be called Modern Borefare 3? Nah i don't necessarily hate Call of Duty, I'm just not a big fan of the current business model. Which happens to be flood the market with a game series at least once a year and not add anything really innovative or new to this title. Just think how many people would hate Valve if they ever did that or Id Software.

Besides, mw3 will obviously be a rehash of mw2 (not blackops to u dumbasses that dont know the gameplay difference) and bf3 has NOT MUCH new in it, they basically hit the fucking reset button on a wonderful game series that no gamer nowadays knew about, saved the other shit so that it looks like they added in new things when they release the next battlefield. (to let you "battlefield fanboys" know, planes have been around since bf1942). I mean come on, mw3 will have more players in a match than battlefield for console.

I don't hate the games, i just hate the controversy created so that business can destroy videogames while appealing to the masses and maximizing profit. Leaving no room for a true artist or entertainer to actually reach out with a good product.

Even jump on it every now and then, full ranked servers still up.

Also BF3 will have 32 player gameplay and MW3 will have 16...

if that's the thing, then you have a long time for BF3.

so why not just copy the contents of BF3 into your hard drive and also remember the serial key for it before returning it.

if the serial key didn't worked after you've returned it then just use the crack, though you cannot play MP when its cracked. even if you can't play MP, you can play the single player story mode again.

Battlefield 3 and MW3 are going to be GREAT games. There is obviously going to be different aspects of each game and which ever one you like better, you're going to buy.

To the people that call it the same game over and over again, that can be said with pretty much any game that has done well in the gaming industry, especially Mario games.

So don't sit there and throw hissy fits about COD of BF3. Just imagine how hard it would be to make a game that would appeal to EVERYONE. That's actually impossible because just about everyone is going to dislike a game for various reasons. I love BF and CoD, both of them aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so everyone needs to just chill out.

I'll buy Battlefield 3, trade it in, and then they give me a new copy of Battlefield 3, Call of Duty 8, plus that dollar they wanted me to pay. That sounds about even to me.
