QuakeCon 2012 Dated

Unlike MineCon, this won’t be a bunch of people in a room talking about Deadmau5. Nope, QuakeCon will instead be a bunch of people in a room shooting the **** out of each other in one of gaming’s most iconic multiplayer games. It’s nice to see gaming bringing us together.

The event has now been announced to take place on August the 2nd through to the 5th, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. Special room reservations are already taking place, at the ‘QuakeCon 2012 Rate’ of $154 per night. Ouch.

What’s nice about the event is that it’s bring your own computer, and I doubt anyone would have the balls to try and cheat in a room full of angry and competitive gamers all the way out in Dallas.

If you plan on attending, I say you should hone up on your skills now and get ready. Either way, the game will probably see a surge in online play around the date (the convention itself is a LAN affair), so there’s no harm in having some old school fun now.
