Project Hell is a project that began its life as a Dead Island mod created by programmer Marcin "MZM" Zygadlo at Techland. It's a first-person hack-and-slasher that apparently really impressed some folks at the Polish studio. 

"Our main goal is to make a game that we can all enjoy playing so don't expect unicorns and fairies - we prefer breaking through hordes of undead minions only to slaughter their devilish and loathsome masters in a bloody boss-fight," said project manager and designer Marcin "Kruq" Kruczkiewicz.

"We're currently working on the PC version but Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are also possible. It all depends on how the game is received."

Techland is also working on their follow-up to Dead Island, entitled Dead Island: Riptide.
