Newest Mass Effect 3 Crew Member Gets His Own Comic |

The newest recruit for the Normandy (assuming you get your ship back in Mass Effect 3) is James Vega, a hard-nosed Marine who is said to be the guy that will play the novice role for those who haven't played the previous two games. In other words, he'll be asking the questions those players may have about previous missions and the like so that Commander Shepard or someone else can fill in the details via some diatribe. He'll be the focus of the first issue of Mass Effect: Homeworlds from Dark Horse Comics.
Previous Mass Effect comics from Dark Horse have filled in background details on ME2 characters like Aria T'loak and The Illusive Man and Homeworlds will be doing that with each issue. The first issue, featuring James Vega, will be out in April. I haven't read any of these comics, but Dark Horse usually does good stuff and they're written by ME writer Mac Walters so they can't be that bad.
What do you think of this FNG? People are already hating on him and his tattoos and deriding his haircut as a fauxhawk, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a "high and tight" - which can look just as ridiculous. But yeah, this hard-nosed anti-hero type has been done to death and his personality probably won't bring much to the awesome, varied crew from the previous games. If he has some really good combat abilities, of course, he'll come in handy.
