New Gameplay Trailer for Spec Ops The Line Released |

Spec Ops: The Line is the latest in a long line of Spec Ops games. It's due out in spring of 2012, and from we've seen so far 2K Games and Yager Development are looking to really make an impact with this one. It's third-person (too many FPSs out there right now anyway) with destructible environments, which I always think is a plus. You can even shoot glass walls and ceilings to dump your enemies below or allow sand to bury them. I love destructible environments; I mean, why should my bullets only destroy those random red barrels people always leave lying around in video games?
This newest trailer (see it here) show us more of ruined Dubai, the insane playground in which the game takes place. The once-plush city is now destroyed, as massive sandstorms laid waste to it and left it buried under mountains of shifting sands. Unfortunately, US Army Colonel John Konrad (a nod to John Conrad, author of Heart of Darkness, which partially inspired this game) got trapped inside and it's up to Spec Ops operator John Walker (voiced by Nolan North, who voices everything) to go in and get him.
Sounds a bit like Apocalypse Now, which it rightfully should given the Heart of Darkness inspiration. Along those lines, moral decisions will play a big part in Spec Ops: The Line and the decisions you make will shape how the game turns out for you. This could be awesome if done right.
