And they have the whole controller covered too, well, almost, with the new SRW-S1 Steering Wheel.
The new SteelSeries PC racing controller is designed from the ground up in the style of a Formula 1 Racing Wheel.
The wheel lacks any Pedals or feedback capabilities and has buttons and dials positioned in more of a gamepad layout than a traditional racing wheel.
Features of the new wheel/gamepad hybrid include:
- motion controlled turning;
- throttle and brake paddles (behind the wheel)
- some LED's to tell you when to change gears;
- a few dials and a hell of lot of buttons;
The SRW-S1 is designed to be played with Ignite technology's Slimraceway (Hence the SRW in the model name) title.
According to Steelseries, the SRW-S1 is also compatible with the a bunch of other Racing Titles
- iRacing
- Need For Speed
- Simraceway
- GTR
- Live for Speed
Some features, including the Assists dials and the shift indicator LEDs, may not be compatible with certain titles however.
Price? Price you say? Well for only $119.99 you get this fine piece of racing hardware that is sure to help you create the most authentic racing you can image. And, it has been tested and approved by Indy Car Drivers! (Well, we tried).
The thing looks hideous to be perfectly honest and the amount of dials and buttons on the front that are intended to recreate a F1 experience, just make it look even more hideous and confusing.
Until someone releases a wheel that rivals the MoMo forcefeedback option for the PC, they won't be getting my $119.99).
