In the latest issue of the official Nintendo magazine, Nintendo Power, Lunar: Dragon Song was almost completely revealed over three pages of pure RPG bliss.

Among the small barrage of decent looking screenshots, many details about the game were revealed:

• The game will take place 1,000 years before The Silver Star.

• There will be significant changes in the visual presentation. For instance, an isometric view will replace the traditional top-down view while traversing through towns. Also, characters will no longer be portrayed in a "super-deformed" style, as in many Japanese RPGs including the previous Lunars.

• The battle system will be turn-based once again, it will also utilize both screens to display larger sprites. "Battle Cards" may be found along your quest, these cards will alter the abilities of your character and your party. There is also a "light and dark" system. Players will be able to transform evil, dark enemies into beautiful creatures of light.

• JAM, the development team that created some of the Playstation based Lunar remakes, is at the helm of Lunar: Dragon Song. The whole project is also being overwatched by GameArts themselves.

• The game will take full advantage of the Nintendo DS' features. Players will be able to participate in full-fledged card battles using the DS' wireless LAN capabilities. Battles can also be controlled by shouting at the microphone. An intricate voice recognition system will take over from there, allowing commands to be issued by simply talking.

• Lunar: Dragon Song will boast the same full-fledged anim style cut-scenes that Lunar fans have come to know and love, and not only for important events within the game.

• The next title in the Lunar series (not Lunar: Dragon Song) will most likely be about "The Four Heros".

• Monsters in the air and on the ground can be battled simultaneously thanks to the DS' two screens.

All in all, Lunar: Dragon Song is shaping up to be the first great RPG epic to grace the Nintendo DS' software lineup.
