Pokémon Art Exhibit Battle Royale

If you're a fan of art, Pokémon and, like me, the original 151 Pokémon, you'll love this. Co-owner of the 'Light Grey Art Lab' Chris Hajny, over in Minnesota, has announced that a competition will take place entitled 'Pokémon Battle Royale'.

The competition and show is an art-off between fans and artists alike to draw the original 151 Pokémon for display at the exhibition. Each Pokémon gets one artist, and as of now there are a couple dozen Pokémon unclaimed.

To participate, you submit a link to your portfolio to the site and wish for the best. Sadly I most likely wont be attending, but I'd love to; seeing hand-painted pieces of 151 Pokémon all at one exhibition would be amazing.

A damn sight better than the last art show I went to...it was a small 5 by 5 meter pitch black room with 7 paintings of butterflies and a girl handing out leaflets and selling the paintings at €10,000 upwards.

This show, however, I imagine to be populated with Pokétrainers donning caps and rucksacks, girls with blue and pink hair, and the Pokémon TV theme song on loop. Maybe that's just me and wishful thinking.

Anyhow, the show opens on April 20th and closes on May 11th and at 8”x8”, the artworks will be sold for $40.
