Nintendo has announced that beginning on June 5th, all available DS Lite systems will now have a suggested retail price tag of just US$ 99.99 in the United States. But that's not all, starting this month, six Mario games for Nintendo DS will also receive a new red packaging, "making it easier than ever for consumers to identify these hit titles in stores."

"From the moment it launched, Nintendo DS Lite hit a sweet spot for consumers in terms of value, experience and fun," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "This new price point will introduce Nintendo DS Lite to even more consumers, and the new red packaging will make it easy for them to find their favorite Mario titles."

The six Mario games that will receive a Mario-red packaging are New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, Super Mario 64 DS,  Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! and Mario Party DS.

Earlier this month, Nintendo also slashed off some precious dollars from its console brother making the two systems more accessible than ever. The Nintendo Wii is now selling for US$ 149.00, bundled with Super Mario Kart and a steering wheel.

Didn't they stop production on the Lite a little while ago? Either way that's a pretty damn good deal!

They said they are no longer producing them. This isn't a price cut. This is clearance.
Stick with the PSP at $130. It's a lot better.

Funny how people like you focus more on pointing out spelling errors than actually making a valid comment on the article.
