Nintendo has share increase despite turmoil

The Wall Street Journal confirmed yesterday that Nintendo will be holding a trade show that will focus primarily on the 3DS. The show will be held on September 13^th and will be open to all media, investors and analysts rather than consumers, which is a wise decision considering the current press based around the lacklustre launch of the 3DS. The main concept will be to make sure people are still putting money into the product for development rather than pushing units...

Anyway, the stock rose after the possible rumours of the above trade show being in the works, which means that either investors are getting savvy to the technology or a lot of people just happened to buy the 3DS last weekend.

Financial reporter Bloomberg, revealed that the Japanese company's shares are at the highest it's been in the past week. With the share price rising 8.4%, the highest price since July 28^th. Japanese analyst, Yusuke Tsunoda told Bloomberg that “Yesterday's invitation from Nintendo for an event on September 13^th seems like the main reason for [the jump]”, there have also been rumours of a 3DS redesign, which Nintendo has yet to comment on.

I personally think 3DS will be a hot ticket item for Christmas with November's games burning a hole in people's pockets, a cheap console will probably be the way to go.
