3DS sales report according to Media Create

The Nintendo 3DS launched in Japan last Saturday, drawing very large crowds and long queues over to the retailers which have reportedly been sold out. Japanese market-watch firm Media Create has now released the numbers of how the new portable gaming system did that day.

According to early reports, the first shipment of 400,000 units was sold out during the first 24 hours of sale. Media Create's figures, however, say differently. The first two days of the new system's launch made it to the cut-off, and according to the firm, only 374,764 units have been sold at the time. It's not the day-one clean-out that was earlier reported, but it's close enough.

Media Create also reports that 0.95 of all 3DS buyers purchased a new game to play with, meaning that not all early-adopters purchased the portable along with a launch title. The best-selling one was Professor Layton and The Mask of Miracle, which sold 119,591 copies.

When the original DS launched, it didn't sell as much but came with a better software attach rate with 1.04. It sold 151,000 during its debut, and WarioWare: Touched! was its best-selling launch title with 149,000 copies sold. The lower attach rate may also be attributed to the augmented reality games that were packed into the system.

when they said that 0.95 people bought a game, do you mean 95%??? cause if it's 0.95 people, what happened to the other 5% of that one person. also, pretty sad that they sold out with the 3DS, but not even a WHOLE one person bought a game for it. i guess people were just waiting for it to get hacked so they can get free games.

i haven't been in school in about 14 years, but i think that 0.95 IS 95% as it is expressed numerically, you silly person.

Also, it's derived from a averages standpoint(exam ple: 2 people bought a 3ds, one person didn't get a game because of all the stuff that already comes on it= 0.50 people bought a game). and don't get me wrong, sarcasm is not lost on me at all!

Oh and does the 3ds mean that Netflix is going to step up with some 3D content soon?

I'm wondering, people who got this system early on EBAY, do you think some of them must have been hackers or developers? Cause i mean it would be great if someone came up with some hack on the system's official release date on March 27th

on playasia they are selling if for almost 700 dollars inst that illegal? in japan their wore groups of people who wore buying bulks of 3ds to sell over the price for profits, witch the police was hunting or something,i also read that some user started having fatigue after 5 min of playing...
