In a not at all surprising turn of events, Nintendo's new 3DS handheld video game console continued to hang on to the top spot in the Japanese hardware sales charts for its first full week on the charts since it launched.
According to the figures from Media Create, the 3DS sold 209,623 units for the period of February 28 until March 6. The handheld, which hit retail in Japan on February 26, sold 374,764 units in two days.

The 3DS maintains a huge lead over Sony's PlayStation Portable which stayed in second place with 76,246 units sold. That's still up by quite a bit from the previous week's 47,955 units, no doubt helped along by the release of Square Enix's Dissidia Final Fantasy sequel.
- 3DS: 209,623 (374,764)
- PSP: 76,246 (47,955)
- PS3: 25,918 (23,654)
- Wii: 11,654 (12,159)
- DSi LL: 8,951 (9,093)

No, it doesn't. The Apple store has seen over 10 billion downloads. The android market hasn't even sliced off a fraction of that yet.
Blackberry is a joke.

No, it's not. See my other post regarding numbers.
To add to those numbers PSPs sold to date - 66.4 million. iOS devices - over 120 million.
What math are you using?

Are you on crack or just not very educated? Nintendo sold over 147 million units of DS. That's about 3 times more then the iPod touch since launched in 2007.

1. I said Apple deviceS. See the S on the end of device? That means more then one device. The fact that you only mentioned one Apple device tells me you missed that little point.
2. Apple shipped more then 500,000 iPads when it was first released. Let me do the math for you...374,764 < 500,000. Also, that's just iPads. That doesn't include everything else.
3. Since I mentioned the Apple app store then clearly I'm discussing iOS which means you need to add up all iOS devices. That includes all iPods, iPhones and iPads.
Here's a little more education for you:
4. According to Video Game Chartz, To date Nintendo has sold 145.7 Million DS units combined. However that's over the course of 7 years. Apple has sold over 120 million iOS devices over the course of 4 years. I'll leave you to do the math on that one all by yourself.

Now if I were to add Nintendo Gaming Devices, the Wii and the DS and 3DS too do you think Apple will have a chance? That's like over 200 units vs 120 million iOS devices... I'll leave you to do the math on that one all by yourself.
Now if you were to compared the first 3 years of iPod touch Vs the first 3 years of the DS, the DS sold a lot more then 45 millions of the iPod.
374,764 units SOLD in 2 days in Japan is a slam dunk. The 500,000 are shipped or even Sold number in America. I'm pretty the 3DS will be sold out within days in the U.S.. I'll bet ya anything 3DS will sales a 1 million units on the first weekend since Nintendo is planning to Shipped 4 million units worldwide in the first month.
Nintendo Just sold over a 1 million copied of Pokemon Black in 1 Day...ONE DAY.

So then explain to me why it's ok for people to lump DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSiXL, 3DS in one category? Because that's the handheld in question. Apples handheld also comes in various styles, iPod, iPhone and iPad.
For you to add the Wii into the equation would be for me to app Apples laptops and desktops into the equation which would be just plain ignorant.
iOS is Apples mobile platform...deal with it.
