Cyberconnect2's Solatorobo: And Then to Coda has been confirmed for a European release by none other than Nintendo, who has signed a distribution deal with Namco Bandai for the Nintendo DS title.

The company plans to release the game later this year in "European territories including Russia and Turkey, as well as South Africa, Australia and New Zealand" under the name Solatorobo: Red the Hunter.

In Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, players enter "a world of epic fantasy action in a role playing game set on the mythical floating islands of the Shepherd Republic. Take on the story of Red Savarin, an anthropomorphic dog with the ability to take a human form, as he does battle with giant robotic mecha and other enemies as he explores the floating islands."

No word yet on a North American release, but if you happen to have an original DS or DS Lite the game apparently isn't region locked. Of course, you won't be able to take advantage of the game's DSi-enhanced features. You're out of luck if all you have is a DSi, though.

A dog piloting a mech. Sounds fun.

AFAIK, the ONLY DSi-enhanced feature this game has is the ability to take a photo to put next to your save file as an icon.... whoopee....
