Nintendo probably wouldn't be too happy to see their latest handheld being literally cracked open for all the world to see. YouTube user pimpmyconsole apparently doesn't mind however, as you shall all see in this video right here.

The video takes some 13 minutes long, and while they took the time to show how to dismantle the 3DS, you're going to have to be on your own when it comes to assmebling it back together, in case you do get the urge to try it out for yourself.

If you'll remember, Nintendo explained that they actually put in three layers for the 3DS to make the design more ergonomic. The first layer holds the upper face of the device, the second layer holds all the external switches, while the third one contains the labels and LEDS for the controls on the second layer.

You'll get to see all of those layers dissected in this video, and if only for that, it should explain why it took them so long to disassemble the 3DS. Still, please do not try this at home if you're not certain you can put it all back together again.
