The Nintendo 3DS released all across Europe on Friday, and some gamers who bought the handheld have shared their impressions with the media.

"It's kind of pricey. I was thinking maybe £50 less than the current price. I can be patient (waiting for big-name games), I can wait a couple of months for Zelda or maybe Mario Kart later this year." - Hugo Fernandez.

"It's not bad. I paid £600 for my iPad. I thought there would be at least a Zelda or some kind of Mario game at launch, but I'll just have to wait for them. It's not holding me back, but Nintendo has lost out. I think they've done that so people buy something at the start and then they come back later for the classics." - Taylor Pelling.

"I haven't got the money to buy one tomorrow. I'll be tempted to buy it when Ocarina of Time comes out, basically. That would persuade me whatever the price. I'm not a great fan of the games being shown tonight. I prefer Metroid, Zelda, Mario, classic Nintendo. But I am impressed by the quality of what I've seen. When I first got hold of the 3DS it was weird but as soon as I got used to the effect I knew where I was after ten minutes or so." - Alex, a student.

"I love the effect buy [sic] it makes me feel a bit dizzy." - Roy, a student.

WooHoo! Went to UPS on Saturday and picked mine up. Got it a day early.

Thanks GameStop!!!

So far I'm very happy with it. I noticed, for me that full 3D makes the foreground a little blurry. Half way is the sweet spot or me with plenty of 3D depth.

Awesome unit!

Nintendo will probably release a 3DS Slim version, with improvements that is.

So if you care about spending your money, better wait for more information.

DS Lite didn't come out until two years after the first DS, so even if they do remodel it there will still be a long wait.

I seriously doubt they can make it very much smaller. If they do anything they'll make a larger screen format.

they're just doing this so that people dont just walk with a 3DS and Zelda, stupid fucking pricks, wont let us NOT waste our money cause they're making us buy these shitty games if we want to have a 3d game.

Quoting Azariel_z:

who is everyone else? Nintendo are now for women (even then women have lost interest because it was just a new fad for them) and children. they're not popular because they make great games and consoles anymore cos they dont.

and calling someone a fanboy because they dont like a certain company is like calling someone a racist because they called something thats black, black.

Maybe you should consider some people are disappointed with nintendo because they used to be great and now they're not. (although new super mario bros is the best thing they've done since the 64)

also "nothing to play" are you serious?
the good games are ALL on the two real consoles and the pc.
