Nintendo UK marketing manager James Honeywell commented on the killer apps for 3DS and the status of Zelda and Mario for the system.

"I actually think that the killer app is the software that is built into the console. With the AR games, the Mii maker, the quests and the ability to swap Miis, those are the killer apps and people should take the time to have a go on those," Honeywell said. "I'm sure they'll be surprised at the level of depth and ingenuity that is already there."

On the status of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Mario Kart 3DS, Honeywell said, "That's certainly what we're kind of planning on at the moment, but you know, things can always change, and until we actually make a firm announcement about the release dates, obviously it's good to wait and see what those dates might be."

"I know from personal experience of being on the sampling tours that the game everyone ran to was Zelda, to get their first experience of it in 3D, so we know it's hotly anticipated, and hopefully we'll be making an announcement fairly soon so people will be able to find out when they'll be able to go and get it."

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is set to release this June.

well, im trying to keep optimistic... im gonna be buying a 3ds in the next couple of weeks, but i've gotta admit, the lineup is ridiculous... i mean less than 10 games for a handheld console is shocking!! but a 3d console, with the capabilities it has, i cant see it being long until nintendo releases its "signiture" games like mario, zelda, metroid and pokemon (but i dont see the last being released for some time because of the releases of black and white). infact, i reckon its a top priority... (i hope)

i wish they would launch new stuff for 3ds and not port old stuff to it, if they wanna port something to 3ds they could port masamune deamon sword and or the genra, just saying nintendo has yet to convince me to purchase a 3ds title wise theres nothing interesting yet,...
