Square Enix has announced that they are developing a remake of the original Dragon Quest Monsters Terry’s Wonderland released on Game Boy Color for Nintendo's latest handheld.

Dubbed as Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D, the upcoming title is a remake of the Game Boy title from 1998. Though details are a bit scarce as of this time, the game will apparently include all the creatures from the recently released Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, with Square Enix also adding new monsters, news scenarios and more to the core gameplay.

Like all of the previous Dragon Quest Monsters offering, the upcoming title will see players recruit, train and battle imaginative monsters of all shapes and sizes., but this time, in a whole new dimension. Terry's Wonderland 3D is expected to be released some time in 2012.

Looks like Square Enix is really going all out to revive the creature-collecting franchise, with another 3DS revamp on the way, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime 3, slated to arrive this November, and Dragon Quest X, which is due for release on the Wii and Wii U some time next year.
