More 3DS Classics games revealed

Nintendo just released the latest list for the newest batch of 3D Classics for the 3DS handheld. There's plenty more for you to choose from, that are sure to bring you back to yesteryears.

Included in the list of new games coming out for Japane's 3DS eShop next week are:

  • Twinbee
  • Excitebike
  • Xevious
  • Urban Champion

I am personally looking forward to TwinBee, on which I spent a whole lot of downtime playing it on NES. The Superman-ish sounds and those delicious-looking gumdrops always spell a good afternoon for me. Looking back now, they made the game look easy, but it was quite the challenge in fact.

Anyway, TwinBee will be pegged at 600 points, so if you've got that to spare, this ought to be a good purchase for your 3DS. We've yet to hear about the official release date of these titles for North America's 3DS, but we'll be sure to keep you posted on that.

Why do they keep repeating the same mistakes???

Every year, technology gets better, but nintendo insists on keeping old games. Even the original NDS; it featured the first full 100% 3D games, yet there were still a bucket load of 2d crappers such as ENDWAR. Why!!!!!!

SERIOUSLY!!! WHY DO THEY KEEP GOING BACK IN TIME?!?!??!

Nintendo has always been behind the times. There are more fully voiced PS1 games than Wii ones.

ya, like New super mario bros for the wii, WHY IS IT 2D????? You clearly see SM Galaxy is 3D, so why did they go back to 2D with New Super Mario bros???

"NSMB" never had a "3D" entry.

Also, think back to the N64, they had tons of 3D games, so why have 2D Super mario bros on a system 2 videogame generations newer??? (gamecube is one generation newer than n64...)

Not everyone likes 3D.

"Super Mario Brothers" has always been a side platformer type game.

You seem to think side-scroller = cheap crap or old. You couldn't be more wrong. Side scrollers are almost a genre on their own and people enjoy them.

2D side scrollers WILL ALWAYS be around. Get used to it.

Out of curiosity, what exactly is your problem with them?

my main problem is that 2d games practically scream laziness. I dont want to pay $40 for cheaply made EndWar type games on the PSP, when you can get Full 3D games for the same price. All the trailers boast the gameplay for the Xbox360 and PS3, but you NEVER see a company made gameplay for the PSP and NDS. That's cause they're hiding that the PSP and NDS versions SUCKED compared to the Full 3D versions on the Xbox and PS.

PSP is fully capable of full 3D games, proof, all the Monster Hunter Games, Daxter, Rachet and Clank, Socom, Resistance, Ace Combat.....

Even Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for psp is in 3D, yet Tom Clancy's EndWar is a crap fest of shit.

It's just super disapointing when reputatble companies that show that they can make really good games one after the other wuth out making duds, end up ruining their record by putting their name on this crap.

I bet they game devs that make the Tom Clancy games were thinking of making the PSP version of the Splinter Cells, as some super shitty 2D crapfest of shit.

"I dont want to pay $40 for cheaply made"

YOU DON'T. Other people do. So, get over it.

Don't buy it if you don't like it. I still don't see the problem. Is someone putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy and play these games?

Yes, I would like an answer to that.

Wow, dude. They have a differing opinion than you. Get over it. Stop telling them that they're wrong. They don't want something, but you do. You're not going to convince anyone any differently by doing what you're doing.
You're telling them that others have different opinions than them so they need to shut up?? Wow, very counter-productive. That's you spewing your opinion over someone else. They aren't doing that to you. They are giving their viewpoints, not telling other people to change theirs.

Wow, another anon troll acting like a fool. Ok I'll break it down for you.

"They have a differing opinion than you."

That's fine. There is nothing wrong with that. The reason I replied to him was because HE ASKED:

"SERIOUSLY!!! WHY DO THEY KEEP GOING BACK IN TIME?!?!??!"

What part of that are you not able to understand?

"Stop telling them that they're wrong."

If someone is wrong then they are wrong. Do you speak English? I clearly stated that Nintendo keeps making 2D because people like them. They also make 3D because people like those too. It's call CHOICE. Something you trollish fanboys know nothing about. He claerly stated that Galaxy's was 3D therefore why did they go BACKWARDS to 2D. There's nothing backwards about it. That's how he's wrong.

"You're telling them that others have different opinions than them so they need to shut up?"

Excuse you troll? I never told anyone to shut up. How about you cut and paste where I told him to shut up. Good luck.

At any rate he NEVER gave an opinion. He clearly ranted on and on about Nintendo making "mistakes". That is not an opinion.

Enjoy your trolling!

So, you agree that it's a fact that Nintendo made mistakes?

That's fine, call it what it is. At the same time people need to realize that THEIR small narrow view is not the same as everyone else's.

How do you figure? I posted BOTH SIDES of the issue. I discussed how people like 3D and 2D. Is there another "D" I missed?

By all means, please enlighten us on this other "D" view that people have.

You argue with everyone. Use no supporting evidence. You "need to realize that THEIR small narrow view is not the same as everyone else's."
So, whenever someone says they like 3D-roaming games more, don't get butthurt over it. Just like whenever someone agrees with you, don't throw it into someone else's face. That's what I meant. I hope you are now "enlightened."

"So, whenever someone says they like 3D-roaming games more"

Correction little boy, that's not what he said. He claimed that Nintendo was going BACKWARDS and was MISTAKENLY making 2D games. He also ASKED WHY. You see, it's called a QUESTION. I answered it. Do you have a problem with me ANSWERING QUESTIONS? You are quickly becoming the site troll around here.

It would be a good idea for you to know WTF you are commenting on before you comment on it.

"You argue with everyone."
HA! That's Laugh. Seeing as how the last 10 posts from you are nothing but you arguing.

Looks like M3rror was right. Come on QJ, turn off the anon posting!!!

umm in the past? Seriously wtf is wrong with this place now >.> I swear a bunch of summerfags joined or something. You guys that say sidescrollers suck need to take a lesson in great gaming. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the classics. Hell if NSMB was NOT a sidescroller than it would not be Super Mario Bros.. People enjoy the original style of Mario much better than the 3D counterpart. Like me. It's not lazy or cheaply done. What kind of talk is that. I develop for the iPhone and I personally can say most apps are cheap and lazy. Does that make them terrible then? You can say so, but they'll just continue making millions while your one voice does not matter to them. Just as the same with Nintendo. Bunch of 12 year olds here that were not born in the time of epic awsomeness. Go back to your poorly done Call of Duty series then. Delta don't feed the kids or the idiotic FPS fags, they're so full of themselves it's hilarious. In fact, lets just stand back here and watch this thread derail from this comment. And Assassin, if 2D games are so easy and lazy, then go make one yourself. And to top it off, try to keep it as the most popular series of all time.
