'Massive shock' Pokemon reveal incoming next week

Pokemon Smash, Japanese TV show successor to the now defunct Pokemon Sunday, where everything Pokemon is discussed, is apparently set to have something big for Pokemon fans all over.

Come their next episode this September 13th, the show will be featuring a "massive shock announcement", courtesy of the game's director, Junichi Masuda. As it is a surprise reveal, they obviously did not drop any more hints about what this could be all about.

Speculations are quick to arise, though, that it could be something related to a Pokedex 3D expansion on the 3DS, which reportedly will bring in Black/White monsters. Well, that's just the deduction based on Tsunekazu Ishihara's previous statements on Famitsu magazine.

Anyhow, whatever it is, we'll find out soon enough next week. The fanbase of the Pokemon franchise is crazy solid anyway, so it won't be surprising at all if they do come up with yet another variation of it in form of a new game or another.

One thing's for sure, though, the Pokemon Company does not find game development on the 3DS easy.
