Kojima Productions has 3DS circle pad add-on, gives thoughts |

Kojima Productions, currently developing Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, has the 3DS circle pad add-on in their studio. What do they think of it?
"I saw it today in the office. I mean I'm sure it'll enhance gameplay... it's a little big," said Christopher Johns. "I don't know if people want to carry it around, right? That might be the tough part. I think it adds a new level to gameplay, so it's definitely worth it."

The second circle pad attachment was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu. It currently only supports Monster Hunter Tri G, but future games may use it.
"It feels good I think... it feels good. It's just it's an add-on, so I think the only concern is how will that kind of split through the users. Because there are people who are gonna wanna just carry around a really portable 3DS and then maybe only the really hardcore guys want to play some FPSs on there or something will maybe want to get that attachment," Sean Eyeston said. "It is kind of big. Gameplay-wise I think it definitely adds a lot. It's just size-wise and I guess aesthetics, right?"
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D was previously delayed, and this circle pad add-on might be the cause of it. Having a second pad would really help the camera control in Snake Eater 3D.
"For those who do play for long periods of time, I think that will win over a lot of people," added Christine Kogure.

I Hope this design isn't final. It seems uneven. I'm all of wounding the edges and making the 3DS bigger, but I'd rather see the Circle- Pad under the ABXY buttons. If they do make a 3DS redesign, this definitely should be part of it, but in that case they would have more freedom as to where to put it.
