Japanese Charts: 3DS stays on top

Looks like Nintendo's price cut strategy is working perfectly, for now, at least, as the 3DS continues to dominate the Japanese charts for the second week running after the massive price drop.

For week running August 15 through August 21, Nintendo's handheld managed to move 105,639, outselling all other systems combined. It's closest rival, the PSP, went on to second spot with 40,888 units sold, while the PS3 and Wii, landed on the third and fourth spot respectively.

Here's Media Create's top 10 hardware sales chart for the week ending August 21st, with last week's sales in parentheses::

For the software side of things, the third game in the Rhythm Heaven series for the Nintendo Wii has scored big in the charts, outselling last week's number one title, Monster Hunter Diary Poka Poka Felyne Village G, to take on the top spot.
