Well, if you were curious to see how Nintendo was going to tackle the problem of DLC, it looks like you have your answer. New Super Mario Bros. 2 players have apparently gathered an astounding 300 billion coins in their adventures, and Nintendo is dropping a free classic level pack to celebrate. Party in the USA (and other places)?
This new DLC includes levels from Super Mario Bros. (the original, duh) and Super Mario Bros. 3. You’ll find the first two levels from the first (along with a Bowser castle), along with a random smattering of fan favorites from the second.
The whole thing is available for download now, so if you have a 3DS and New Super Mario Bros. 2 you may as well give it a shot. Or, you know, do work.

You have to have internet to get the DLC so....this could be a clever ploy to get more people on the internet to get them to relay their coin total.
