eShop 3DS firmware delayed

Unfortunately, Nintendo has decided to push back the release of the eShop 3DS firmware. The firmware was supposed to update not only the eShop, but the DSiWare transfer, web browser, and other features for the 3DS.

3dseOriginally, it was slated for a release in "late May", but now Nintendo Japan's website announced that it's been moved back to June. The new date for you to mark on your calendar for this firmware update is now June 7th, in Japan. As for the North American release, it's going to be on "the evening of June 6 Pacific Time".

What else is happening on that day? Apparently, it's also going to be Nintendo's E3 presentation in Los Angeles, so definitely, there's going to be much more activity then than meets the eye. It's not too long a delay, anyway, and it would probably make much more sense for Nintendo to release it then, if only to ensure maximum exposure.

As for the other news that will be coming out from their E3 presentation, we'll be sure to keep you up to speed on that.

Hmm, well that won't give anyone any time to evaluate it and ask any unwanted questions then. Seems pretty typical of Nintendo's attitude towards gamers lately.

Meanwhile my 3DS is sat gathering dust waiting for something worth playing...

However, not completely unexpected. With recent PSN debacles I could see the testing team asking for a little longer to try and prevent problems before they possibly could happen.

I'm not surprised. When has anything released on schedule without at least one delay these days? It happens, so not much to do but wait.

Dead or Alive is out in 7 days. Should be a good enough reason to dust it off!!
