Resident Evil's Mercenraies gameplay mode is making the jump to full-fledged game this year with the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. Developer Capcom has released a short video showing off more gameplay footage along with a reveal that the game will feature 30 missions.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D takes its cue from the similarly named gameplay mode. The controls will remain largely the same but gamers will be able to move while firing. The game will automatically switch to first-person mode when you fire. You can also play the entire game as an FPS.
Among the many playable characters confirmed for the game are Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Hunk, and Jack Krauser. Multiplayer for up to two players will also be supported via Wi-Fi.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is currently on track for a June 2, 2011, release in Japan. Online retailers have it pegged for a July launch in North America. Those who buy a copy of the game will find an extra dose of Resident Evil-themed goodness inside the box in the form of a playable demo of Resident Evil: Revelations.
