Following the recent confirmation of The Legend of Zelda: Ocaina of Time 3D's North American launch date, Nintendo has laid down a Japanese date for Star Fox 64 3D. The 3DS game's website has recently gone live, revealing the launch as set for July 14, 2011. There's not a lot to find on the teaser site, but you can check it out here.

Star Fox 64 3D is a 3DS remake of the 1997 Nintendo 64 release, Star Fox 64. The 3DS remake will include the addition of 3D effects and other features not found in the original. Of course, the remake is also being given a graphical upgrade and makes extensive use of the 3DS' touch screen.

The game has been confirmed for release in North America and Europe, but it is conspicuously absent from the Q2 release lineup that Nintendo sent out. Since the international release of Ocarina of Time 3D is pretty close to the Japanese launch, Nintendo may do the same. Hopefully we'll hear something specific about a western release in the next few weeks.

Hopefully this is one of the games Nintendo is bringing to E3.

why? it's not very impressive, it's just an over exagerated port. i'd be more impressed to see a new Metroid, New New SuperMarioBros. or some other more creative thing than just a port. Ports aren't that impressive anymore, tons of companies do it, so we shouldn't just give our money to them saying "congratualation s on doing something every else is capable of doing, yet, ur still only going to use 1 pixel per inch technology, so you shouldn't feel too proud of yourselves"

I couldn't agree with you any more. Nintendo has gone from creating great AAA games to making underpowered novelty hardware so they can farm their existing hits into remakes. It is a great business model if you like making money so I can't say I blame Nintendo's executives. That being said, great money making schemes aren't always the result of positive moral decisions.

Hopefully Nintendo announce something new for a change instead of remakes of ALL the old games.

Maybe a new console perhaps?

It's really annoying how Nintendo has the audacity to not have AT LEAST one 1st party game within a few weeks near launch of the 3DS... :-x

SC2 on my psp with pspDISP eboot, idk what the fuss is about these new pieces of junk. Ive had my psp for about 3-4 years, never left me bored. If i got a better computer that could run black ops i could play that on my psp too. N64 games are 70% working on psp without the power of your pc too.
3D, big whoop.

Hopefully Wii 2 struggles to do well and Nintendo might get off their lazy arses and stop cashing in on their franchises with endless ports and be forced to make something new and good for a change, they just looking at all that money that's rolled in from Wii and DS and forgot they used to be the un-equalled platform king.
