Shinobi sneaking onto 3DS? |
Listed in: Games Tags: griptonite games, Sega, shinobi

Sega's Shinobi series has been pretty silent in recent years. If an artist profile on the social networking site LinkedIn can be believed, the franchise might be gearing up for a stealthy showing on the Nintendo 3DS.
Superannuation has spotted a game called Shinobi 3DS listed on the LinkedIn profile of Branden Brushett, an artist at developer Griptonite Games. On his profile, Brushett mentioned that he "created whole levels for Shinobi on the Nintendo 3DS, including many props for use in a variety of environments."
The listing has since been removed. Sega, meanwhile, declined to comment on the issue.
It's worth noting that although the Shinobi series has largely been seen on home consoles, Griptonites protfolio is mostly for handheld games. The latest Shinobi game to be released in North America was Nightshade, which came out on PS2 back in 2004. The original is currently available on a number of current-generation consoles as a downloadable game.
