With the Nintendo 3DS releasing in North America tomorrow, I take some time to look at Pilotwings Resort, one of the launch titles for the system.
Pilotwings Resort is the third game in the franchise that started back on the Super NES.
Two different game modes are available for players: Free Flight and Mission mode. In Free Flight, players are able to fly around Wuhu Island without any restrictions -- other than a short time limit -- while they collect hidden trophies and collectibles. Mission mode has players take on a variety of different missions, which include shooting balloons, passing through check points, and landing their crafts.
There are three basic vehicles that players will be flying in Pilotwings Resort: hang glider, plane, and jet pack. Variations of the three basic vehicles are unlocked later in the game, including a jet fighter and a squirrel suit.
Pilotwings Resort is a very short game, but it's also highly accessable and perfect as a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS.
