Differences between 3DS, PSP versions of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 |
Listed in: Games Tags: 3D, Arc System Works, blazblue: continuum shift 2

Arc System Works will be bringing BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 to both the Nintendo 3DS and Sony PlayStation Portable soon. In Japan, the release will take place on March 31st. For those who have both handheld platforms, here's a handy guide from the developer to help you choose which one to get.
There will be no difference in game content for either version. Both will also use local multiplayer for two to four players -- two fighting and two watching. One advantage the PSP version has is that it works with Adhoc Party for the PlayStation 3. Thing is, those who have the PSP Japanese release won't be able to play wireless matches against gamers with other region versions.
Arc System Works also notes that when playing between PSP-1000, PSP-2000 and PSP-3000, the PSP-1000 may sometimes skip frames. There will be no difference between the PSP and 3DS versions in terms of command timing.
The special features is where the two versions differ the most:
3DS Special Features:
- Outside of movie scenes, the game works with 3D output. You can lower the 3D volume all the way to make the game 2D, of course.
- The lower screen shows a command list. This isn't for shortcut commands though. You can't tap the bottom screen to perform special moves.
PSP Special Features:
- The PSP version is compatible with data install. A 600 megabyte install will speed up load times.

PS: No doubt the 3DS has a more powerful CPU/RAM/GPU and it loads faster anyway.

3DS is newer therefore more capabilities.
Still, they're equal when it's about analogue sticks (one each other).

It's 2x333 MHz vs 2x266 MHz.

The PSP only has one CPU.
That's 1x333 vs. 2x266.

But if you count those, you have to include the 3DS's Pica GPU.
Let him have his one-person circle-jerk.

BTW comparing the PSP and the 3DS is completely unfair

And still they share the same version of a game with almost no improvement on the 3ds version. Just show me a Street Fighter IV for PSP and then, we might talk about real comparisons

Personally I'll buy the retail release for my collection and then use an ISO. Best of both worlds.

3DS shines where it's best at: 3D graphics. Other than that, it's nothing short out of amazing to see that PSP can run the same game as a next-gen portable.
I'll buy the PSP version. Not that fond of 3D, anyway. ^^
