Nintendo of Japan recently announced some details regarding New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC during one of its Nintendo Direct presentations. Unfortunately, the presentation was in Japanese, but Joystiq thankfully translated it to give us all the juicy scoop.
The New Super Mario Bros. 2 DLC will include three separate Coin Rush mode packs that will offer the following:
- a pack with three Gold Mario-themed courses with the chance to win up to 30,000 coins
- a pack that posts top scores directly on the New Super Mario Bros. 2 website so you can brag to your friends
- a pack featuring extremely difficult levels
Nintendo announced that the three packs would become available in Japan on October 2 for 200 yen (about $2.50 US) each. There’s no word on a release date for the rest of the world, but we can only hope that it comes quickly.

I already have the coin rush modes that are able to get 30,000 coins saved as favorites and I couldn't care less about scores.
