Did you live through the 8-bit revolution? Were you one of the first “computer” gamers? If so, you probably remember Cyan’s incredible CD-ROM title, Myst. The game, which featured an explorable, pre-rendered world packed with puzzles and mystery, was an instant hit – pretty much everyone had a copy of the game at one point or another.

Myst is now poised to make a triumphant return, in the form of a port to the Nintendo 3DS. The new game, titled Myst 3D (duh), will feature all of the content found in the original game, as well as the RIME Age extras added to the game in its 2000 re-release. The port will stay true to the game’s roots, with the only major changes being its adaptation to 3D.

Myst 3D is slated for March 27, 2012. Do you think the game will work well for the 3DS, or is Myst a game that belongs on PCs? Solving some of the puzzles on the 3DS screen doesn’t exactly sound appealing to me.

So it's realMyst packed into the 3DS?

2nd reason to get a 3DS, first is MGS 3D.

Keep it up developers, now you just need Final Fantasy 6,7,8, and 9 3D, Vagrant Story 3D, Super Dodge Ball 3D, Duck Hunt 3D, THPS 3D, Fruit Ninja 3D, Angry Birds 3D, Dead Space 3D, Star Control II 3D, Mass Effect 3D, GTA 3D, and Portal 3D.

If it had those I would think about buying one.

I mean true 3D, like from the birds perspective, or you could go classic and just add some depth to it.

Or even just an isometric view like the classic arcade game Zaxxon, in fact that's due for another remake/port.

I remember someone making a port of Myst before...

for the DS.

Do we really need two ports of the same game that far apart?
