If you've ever wanted a pair of Super Mario-themed Converse shoes (who hasn't), you’d better get your ass to Japan before March. Converse Japan and Nintendo have just unveiled a new set of sneakers featuring the famous plumber and his ubiquitous invincibility star – a good design element, since these shoes will essentially make you invincible to ever meeting a woman.
The shoes come in black and white, with red trim and the 8-bit graphics you would expect from such a ridiculously transparent cash grab. There’s no word on whether the shoes will be made available in the west, but given the recent way in which gaming has become “geeky-cool,” it’s definitely not out of the question.
Look for the Super Mario Bros. X Converse One Star Ox this March. In Japan. Duh.
