Activision Earns Good Because Of…Spyro? |

When hearing about Activision doing well, one usually thinks of Call Of Duty. Well, recent quarterly revenues have been good for Activision, and while a lot of it is contributed to Modern Warfare 3, a lot of it is also contributed to Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure.
I don’t know why; Spyro 1, 2 and 3 are worth the hype, they’re damn amazing. But Skylanders? Argh.

Another reason Activision is doing so well is because of Call Of Duty Elite; I actually thought hardly anyone would bother with the subscription, but proving me wrong, the service has indeed 1.5 million paying members, with 7 million total registered accounts.
Now only Xbox Live and World Of Warcraft are ahead of it in terms of major online premium gaming services. Activision notes that Call Of Duty is one of the largest standalone brands in the world.
On a related note, the ‘Content Collection’ will be hitting in March, bringing some exclusively Elite content to normal users. Also in 2012 will be a brand new Call Of Duty title and Call Of Duty Elite 2.0
Personally I actually got bored by Modern Warfare 3 (and Black Ops, but the presentation and short length was enough to keep me interested through to the end).
What’s your take on the ever growing franchise?

Yup, the game totally kicks butt. We've also been having tons of fun trying to gain a full collection.
Greatly looking forward to Giants.
