Sony: NGP launch still on track as planned |

Contrary what the president of SCEA recently stated, the firm has said today that the launch of its next handheld system codenamed “Next Generation Portable” is still on track as planned.
Earlier this week, a report from Bloomberg claimed that the massive earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan had deeply impacted the production of the NGP, with SCEA's president Jack Tretton was quoted as saying that: "It may be the straw that says 'maybe we get to just one market by the end of the year."
But now, it looks like the firm is distancing itself from Tretton. In an interview published today by the Wall Street Journal, Sony spokesperson Satoshi Fukuoka said that reports were “wrong”, adding: “So far we see no impact from the quake on our launch plan.”
Tretton previously stated that they are looking for a possible "holiday 2011” release for the PSP's next successor before the unfortunate events in Japan. “I know that’s rather ambiguous, and that’s for a reason,” he said. “I think our goal is always to launch [during the] holidays when the majority of sales are done. You want to have a worldwide simultaneous launch.
“Having said that, this’ll be our sixth platform launch, and it’s very difficult to have the quantities to be able to launch on a worldwide basis on the same date. So while that’s the goal, the reality might be something different. I think our goal is, we would get at least one territory out by the end of holiday 2011.”

-The front botton edge seems bland, they need to put the [Start] [Select] Buttons back there
- The front top edge seems bland, put a super-wide subwoofer there while keeping the side speakers where they are
Other than that, i think the design is very realistic and modern, without making it look tacky or cheap.

The overall design is so good and attractive. every time I see that image.. shit, I need one so badly.
My only concern is with [Square]Button, I just feel that the right analog stick might interfere with pressing that button. this also concern the d-pad too.
Damn, I wish I can grip it on my hand to confirm that.
